Relief from Trauma with Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)
September 15, 2009
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) has repeatedly proven itself in releasing trauma that expresses itself in nightmares, night sweats, hypervigilance, intrusive thoughts, nervousness, sadness, and a myriad of other symptoms. If you or someone you care about is suffering, please share this wonderful healing modality with them. This is the biggest “Thank You” we could possibly give to our soldiers whose souls have been ravaged by war. This is a gentle technique that, unlike traditional psychotherapy, does not ask that a person re-live an event. Gary Craig, a Stanford engineer and founder of EFT, has a wonderful website where you may download a “free” manual and begin using EFT immediately. You can “TRY IT ON ANYTHING!” Skeptical? Here is an easy way to show you how it works: Stand with your feet planted on the floor, about a foot apart. Extend your right arm and swing your arm around as far to the right as it will go. Mark the spot on the wall. Do a round of EFT (found in the manual) while focusing on the problem “restricted muscles.” This will make sense after you have downloaded the manual. Now swing your right arm around again, and mark the spot on the wall. Results are amazing! Contact an EFT practitioner for help with trauma because you will need a trained professional to guide you through the process, quickly targeting the root issues. Attend a Workshop!
Hello World!
This is my first post here, and I want it to be meaningful. I believe many of our veterans and returning military soldiers are falling through the cracks of the “Mental Health System.” Some do not seek help because of the fear of losing at the least a top-secret clearance and at worst, a job. Many have sought help through traditional psychotherapies, only to relive traumatic events that become his/her “virtual reality.” Unaware of the avenues of healing available to them through alternative modalities, most importantly Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Hypnosis, and NeuroLinguistic Programming (NLP), those who have suffered the traumas of war carry with them the burden of horrific memories that ravage their souls and shatter their worlds. Let Freedom ring throughout this great land so that those who have loved and served our country risking life and limb may become aware of the modalities of hope and healing that are reaching to release them from pain and sorrow, suffering and grief, and create for them the life of peace, love, happiness, joy, and abundance they deserve. It is time to expand minds and hearts and start running our mouths to anyone and everyone involved in the Armed Forces, Health Care, and Politics to raise awareness about these valuable tools we now have available that need to be accepted into the traditional health care system.
I saw patients for two years as a psychology extern while studying for my doctorate in clinical psychology where I incorporated Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) , Psychodynamic Therapy, Integrative and Eclectic approaches to therapy, and saw my patients get better, but I have to be honest with you, with all that I gleaned in the many years of studying psychology and applying the empirically validated psychotherapies, I never witnessed the rapidity with which one can be healed as I have in applying these alternative modalities. It takes my breath away and fills me with joy.
I recently worked with another of our veterans suffering with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). I taught him Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). It looks a little bizarre, but I explained to him that while focusing on “the problem” we were going to tap meridian points on the body. Coming from a scientific background, it was important for me to “see” how this worked when I was first exposed to EFT, so I gave him an example he could see with his eyes and feel with his body that this really works. His reponse was, “Wow, Belinda, where did you learn that? I haven’t been able to move my body like that in years.”
We talked and tapped for a couple hours, and when he left, I asked if he would let me know how he was doing. After a few days of not hearing from him, I called to see how he was feeling. He shared with me that his nightmares and night sweats had vanished, that he was sleeping through the night and was no longer hypervigilant. He reported his appetite was returning after having lost a tremendous amount of weight. Can you even imagine how I felt? I was jumping for JOY! This is what our veterans deserve, true Freedom.
I love what I do, and I have found my passion in leading others to live a life filled with Infinite Possibilities. We have Gary Craig, founder of EFT, to thank for this wonderful healing technique. Please visit his website Here, and download the FREE manual. It can be used on everything from negative emotions, bad habits, depression, anxiety, phobias, and problems in school to serious illnesses and diseases. The technique sports an 80% cure rate! My workshops in EFT introduce the techniques I’ve spoken about here, and I’m scheduling them as often as I can to get the word out. Please share this on Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, and all of your favorite social networks, and by the way, Oprah has a show coming up on PTSD, so please shoot her an e-mail.
